But how to go about decorating your own tree? Invest in basic decorations and balls to match with themed collections for easy and effective decorating.
We have wonderful ones, made of glass by skilled artisans, to choose from, whether you're going for the classic red, green and gold look, a winter wonderland theme, or something distinctive and whimsical. Modern or traditional, ours is certainly an extensive catalog. They are worth collecting and passing on from generation to generation.
That's why at Edmo, we prefer handmade blown glass decorations.
When you have to decorate your tree, whether it is from previous years or newly purchased, besides choosing the theme, color and overall look, the question to ask yourself is: how many decorations will I need?

The amount of decorations to hang on the 'tree depends mainly on individual preferences and there is no exact number. However, using our diagram can be a good starting point for buying decorations to evenly cover the height of the 'tree. It is advisable to purchase an extra set of ornaments in each color you choose to ensure you have replacements available in case an ornament is lost or damaged.
Below we will provide the count that we at Edmo suggest. However, you may need to increase or decrease the resulting number depending on the size or type of ornaments you will be using. For reference, the table allows ornament sizes ranging from 8 cm to 22 centimeters in length.
We at Edmo prefer large, impressive ornaments. In years past, balls between 4 and 6 centimeters were used; 8-centimeter ones were considered large. Fortunately, the trend has changed, so we prefer the 10 cm size for glass balls.

Tree Height Light Coverage Heavy Coverage
1,80 meters 70 pieces 110 pieces
2,40 meters 100 pieces 150 pieces
2,80 - 3 meters 180 pieces 220 pieces

If your tree is near a wall, you don't have to decorate the back. No one will see the bare part of your tree, and this allows you to double the amount of lights and balls on the side of the tree facing the room, giving the tree a fuller, brighter look.
